Fili, Kili and Óin

I painted three dwarves during last week, Fili, Kili and Óin. I’m pretty happy with them, I think especially Kili looks really nice with his blue clothes.

I finished Fili and Kili in time for the January Painting Challenge but did not eventually enter them in the challenge. I tested the iPad book painting guide for them and followed the guide pretty closely. Therefore they don’t have much of my own painting style visible in them and I didn’t want to take part in the challenge with someone else’s painting ideas.

I have to say I’m not entirely happy about the painting style GW is trying to promote with their new Base/Shade/Layer/Dry set of paints and how they are intended to be used. But more about that later, I’ve been preparing a longer rant about the topic.
