I took my new gaming table tonight for a test drive and it worked well. The table can support a 120 cm wide board without danger of tipping and there's still some room for books, dice, sheets etc.

We played one of the oldest LotR scenarios, "Orcs Attack!" in which Elrond and his retinue of Númenoreans and elves tries to break through an orc ambush. Elrond fought to the last man and he and all the elves tore through orc ranks. All men but one died. There's going to be some explaining to Elendil when they meet... :-)

The age of the scenario showed. Elrond has received a couple of upgrades during the years and he was next to invincible against anything the orcs could throw at him. Especially his "Wrath of Nature" spell worked almost too well. It would probably be fair to throw in a handful of extra orcs or even Warg Riders to even out the odds.
