The topic of the February Painting Challenge in One-Ring is Sauron. Here he is with a few friends and enemies who are also getting ready to be painted.

Sauron is my first Citadel Finecast miniature actually getting painted (I bought one Warhammer orc when the first bunch was relased but it's not painted yet). Putting a Finecast model together was a lot of easier than a metal one. No pinning or other such multi-part metal figure techniques were needed; just a few drops of superglue. The casting lines were also a lot easier to remove than from plastic figures. Despite all the critique Finecast seems to be a good alternative to metal figures, but of course this is just one model so it's too early to say anything definitive yet.
