New Project: Hasharin
The May Painting Challenge in One-Ring is hasharin. For those of you who do not play the Lord of the Rings miniature game, a hasharin is an assassin from Harad. Since Games Workshop does not sell the hasharin miniature at the moment (production probably being transformed from metal to resin), I ordered an assassin miniature from my favourite miniatures company, Dark Sword Miniatures. The miniature is "Male Assassin" from their Visions in Fantasy series, sculpted by Jeff Grace. I think it looks suitably "southron" to be used as someone from Harad.
This miniature is part of my Battle of Pelennor Fields project. In the second scenario, a hasharin is sent to murder prince Imrahil inside the Gondorian camp in the middle of the night. That's going to be a stealth mission and it will be interesting to see how it works with the LotR rules set.
The other three miniatures are also from Dark Sword (ordered them at the same time as the hasharin). The female next to the hasharin is Cersei Lannister from the George R. R. Martin Masterworks series, sculpted by Tom Meier. The miniature behind the hasharin is a high elf warrior from the Visions in Fantasy, and he will get to be a captain in my elf forces. Behind Cersei her is a samurai guinea pig (don't ask!), which the good folks of Dark Sword had put in the box as a complimentary gift. Looks like it will be fun to paint.
