I finished painting the first miniature for Faramir's Warband. This fellow is their banner bearer and acted as a test piece for the rest of the band. He's painted using sprays as much as possible.

I sprayed the rider with silver spray directly over the metal, but that did not work out as well as it could have. The silver paint is not a real primer, so it does not hold onto the miniature surface as well as proper miniature primers. It's not a huge problem, I mean the paint does not flake off or anything, but I had to be more careful with the corners and sharp angles. A couple of coats of spray varnish will help here. Anyway, I primed and basecoated with silver spray, and then I sprayed a black wash onto him with the Citadel spray gun. After drybrushing with Necron Compound, the new drybrushing "paint", he was almost finished. OK, the banner was quite a lot of work, but still, this armour painting method should speed up painting the rest of the warriors.

The horse was first primed and then I sprayed Calthan Brown on it, again with the spray gun. It took care of the base too, as all my base are belong to us, um, I mean are Calthan Brown. Then I highlighted the horse with lighter browns and sprayed a brown wash over it and the base. Again, almost everything painted with just a few bursts of spray paint.
