Here is my newest terrain piece, a wooden bridge. It has been "work-in-progress" for quite some time, and now it is finally complete. The bridge and its base are compatible with my existing river sections.

The other terrain piece is a wooden jetty, which is shown in the picture with an old river section. I mean to build a ferry, just like the Bucklebury Ferry in the Lord of the Rings movies where the Ringwraiths chase the hobbits. So, for now the jetty is just eye candy without any actual advantage in the terms of playing the game.

I built both structures from balsa wood and painted them by drybrushing with various browns over a black undercoat. The ground is painted brown, drybrushed with light brown and covered mostly with green sawdust scatters and lots of static grass. There are also tufts of longer grass.

The trees are ready-made ones, but I made the bushes myself. They are based on a coctail stick stuck on to the foamcard base and a piece of lichen is glued onto the stick. I heard too late that lichen should have been treated before using it, so it is possible that the bushes will crumble to dust at some point. I glued green and brown sawdust scatters as leaves onto the lichen, but I couldn't cover them well enough. The light grey lichen is still showing through the "leaves" and they look a bit weird. Spraying them with dark green paint would have been a smart move, but I had already glued them on the base before realising that and the wooden parts were already painted at that point.

By the way, this post is made with the iOS Blogger app. I didn't like DraftCraft so I moved on to the next candidate.
